EterNice is the name twe have given to our own PVD technology. Beauty and endurance are the two concept that best define EterNice Process. And what is PVD? PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) is a process of transference of ions similar to chrome, titanium or zirconium. The generation of this layer is through its own evaporation at high temperature. It’s a deposition of a material atom by atom, and this is why it has an extraordinary resistance. A high intensity voltaic arc tears off the atoms that we have chosen, and these atoms mix with the gas, forming a ionized plasma that put the previously chromized pieces together. Nowadays, PVD is used to enhance the hardness of the product, from elements like cutlery, watches, drill bits, etc., to surgical prostheses or dental implants. EterNice process phases:
1- Surface activation: vital process to prepare the faucet before submitting it to the treatment.
2- Applying of the EterNice layer: it requires a high knowledge of the technology.
There are two types of PVD on the market: Industrial PVD and decorative PVD, where the structure impacts on the thickness and resistance to the abrasion. At GRB we have bet for decorative PVD for its high performance, multiplying by three the shots in the machine, achieving more regularity and less porosity. Industrial PVD, which is the predominant type in the faucet industry, because of its porosity, it will always need a varnish to stabilize the surface. Decorative PVD also increases the abrasion resistance of our faucets by ten times.
